A Thought for Food

, click here to see large picture.Food is essential for survival for both, humans and animals. Our food varies with nations and civilizations, habitats and climates. But the principal aim behind food consumption remains universal. Perhaps, we have begun to perceive our food as our own business, a need and a routine, and nothing more. On the flipside, if one person’s smoking affects others in a very visible and direct manner, could it be that one person’s food affects others to a much greater extent though not so visibly. Today is when we may have to give a Thought for Food .

As Simple As It Gets

, click here to see large picture. Philosophy, theology, science, etc. tend to become difficult, hard core, adult-reading materials. But the issues that are covered are important for everybody because they help one decide the directions to the life. The challenge is to discuss these issues in a simple yet logical manner. Moreover, it would be to everybody’s advantage if these issues could be discussed in a manner that even youngsters could find them an enjoyable reading with the real life examples to which one can relate to. Indeed, the basic truth of life is always As Simple As It Gets .

What’s in the Law of Karma

, click here to see large picture.Humans are always curious to know about the laws in the nature. The laws in the nature must be followed. If we understand them and align ourselves with them then we have much to benefit; otherwise we are bound to be doomed. While the laws of nature govern the material part of the world, there might be a law governing the individual spirits of the living beings, humans included. If such is the case then we must be much more concerned with such a law that affects us more than any other law does. Such a law is typically referred to as the Law of Karma. Still more amusing it is that we constantly, and sub-consciously, spend our lives trying to unravel What’s in the Law of Karma.

Enriching the Life

, click here to see large picture. We all want to enjoy the life but we face a strange riddle that no two persons can agree on the same source of enjoyment throughout their life – one likes to have a cup of coffee and another may opt for a cup of tea.

If life experiences are so subjective in nature then, how can we expect all to end up obtaining the “absolute pleasure” – if such a thing indeed exists? Until we find it, we are after something in the life with a feeling of vacuum deep within us – a sense of un-contentedness. The big question is: does “absolute pleasure” really exist that can make anybody feel the ultimate pinnacle of pleasure? The answer to this question will determine the pragmatic strategies towards Enriching the Life .

In the Periphery of Energy

, click here to see large picture.Importance of energy is well realized in the present times. Though people are more pre-occupied with the energy possessed by the matter yet the truth is that the human energy comes in more subtle forms. We know that even in our worst times the sight of a smiling baby forces us to smile back at her and all our worries disappear. The small baby doesn’t have much energy but has immense strength to cause its positive transfer. How did it happen that now our smile doesn’t have that strength any more though we might have more energy than what we had as a baby child?

It’s all in the energy to enjoy the life to its fullest extent. It’s worth learning to play In The Periphery of Energy and to know how to build it up and cause its positive transfer – a win-win game!!!

Vedas and Us

, click here to see large picture.Vedas are the first books in the library of the mankind. They contain the very first set of ‘The Word’ that came to us. Generally speaking, man-made things evolve with time and take a more refined shape and design with the passage of time. But the non-man made things are perfect to begin with and they remain unchanged with time. The latter things have an eternal sense of value. It should make sense for us to take a glimpse of these books in the present modern times and redefine the relationship between Vedas and Us.

The Human Nature and Human Food

, click here to see large picture. A cow or horse will starve to death but will not eat meat. On the other hand, a lion or tiger will starve to death but will not eat anything but another animal’s meat. That is their nature. We have, over time, begun identifying animals as herbivores and carnivores. When it comes to us, Human Nature and Human Food is where our objective inquiry needs maximum absorption.

Marriage, Family and Love

, click here to see large picture.Love is the first thing that a child receives after her birth – the mother’s love. Most of us take it for granted that we love so many people around us. But many times even the best of the relationships fall apart so suddenly that we are forced to wonder “was it not the love that was binding us together, and if it was, then where is that gone now?” Relationships form and sometimes, as we feel, break apart. Maybe, looking deeper in those, beyond a marriage and a family, love needs an essence that is in abundance, provided we really want to have it.
