Meditating to Alter Your Past and Future

So, Interstellar is all over the posters and the cinemas right now. Sci-fi generally puts time relativity into perspective. And speaking of relativity of time, a member recently wrote to us asking if we can alter time (past, present and future) using meditation?

A lot of interesting information has come out regarding meditation lately. Like meditation can make alterations to the human body on a cellular level. Or that it can perhaps even slow down our perception of time. If getting rid of stresses of life can cause such an impact, then what about the impact of deep meditation?

What do you feel is time? Our perception of time is subjective to our environment. Factors like gravity can affect it. As we all live on Earth within more or less the same degree of gravitational pull, time seems to tick at a universal pace and two hours here is the same two hours across the globe.

But it is difficult to imagine that our perception of time is so different barely a few light years away in our galaxy. What might be two hours up there, might be just a few seconds or even decades here on Earth, depending on where you are in space.

If time is a relative dimension in our world, then what would it be like to not have a world limited by time? Put simply, there will be chaos everywhere.

What will changing time be like? Now we are coming back to Patanjali’s theory of samādhi. You can occupy any state, and be loyal to it so that that becomes your very reality. The theory states body, mind and soul as the three components of a human being. Our consciousness is the non-physical part of us. This is who we are.

Consciousness being non-physical in essence cannot be tested unless in a non-physical laboratory. So our physical laboratories that are constructed here in space, time and matter cannot study it.

If any physical dimensions including time do not limit consciousness, then could it transcend the boundaries of past/present/future and make alterations to its existence? In theory, consciousness is eternal and nothing is predestined – the course of our world includes infinite outcomes of our past.  It depends on the infinite range of choices we make in a given situation.

We ourselves create this complex bridge of incidents that we eventually tread upon.

I could eat a toast right now or just drink juice. The toaster might burn my toast and I might spill the juice depending on my level of attention. Or I might not have any accidents at all and enjoy my snack. My future is my choice.

Can it really be changed? If the physical dimensions do not limit consciousness then surely, past, present and future can all be altered using consciousness as it transcends them all. So, if you are capable of controlling your consciousness through deep meditation, in theory, you are capable of changing your existence in space and time.

In a physical world, you will not be magically teleported to another level, because the physical body will have to still follow the rules of physics. So the perfect balance of your body following the laws of physics and your soul following the law of consciousness will inevitably take you to a different state of existence.

The catch is no physical laboratory can test this theory save for your consciousness - so how can you test it yourself?

Weird stuff comes up when you Google 'consciousness'

How do I test it? Through deep focus and conviction using your focus. Patanjali’s concept of samādhi is not limited to a state of a blank. It is the perfect launchpad for you to take off to a place you want to go to as well. If you can feel the ecstasy while meditating, you’re close to it. Then use the same amount of focus to get where you want to go feeling it with the best of your imagination (and we hope it’s nice and for the good of all…). Now live like it’s happened and your consciousness is living in that dimension of time and space. Keep living like that. In time, your body will go there too.

Yes, it sounds complex but it is actually rather simple. The key is to let no distraction/ physical fact come in your way of belief. That is why your practice with Patanjali meditation is going to help you tear away from everything around you that you want to see changed.

So…what about changing your past? Can you undo it? Apparently yes, in a way that it will fulfil both laws of consciousness and laws of physics. If you have had a terrible experience meeting some people, can you undo it according to the theory? Believe that it never happened, and imagine another desirable state of your past. Live like the second scenario is what happened. And see how your present and future are altered in accordance to that assumption.

Imagine. Focus. Believe. Yeah.
Really? Yeah, it sounds very OTT. We thought that too. But try it. As of yet, we are getting varying degrees of success results depending on our convictions… We’ll keep you posted.

And let us know how it works for you.

Modern Humans older than previously thought

Modern Humans 80,000 Years Older Than Previously Thought :

You may want to know why we are so excited each time the date for the humans as we know them today, gets pushed back further.

The truth is there is no religious conspiracy behind this. We do not hold Adam and Eve’s existence as the basis of our world. We do, however, badly want to find answers to a lot of things the Vedic literature has bestowed upon us. We already have proof that the Vedas have existed for at least 15,000 years (we’ll be getting back to that documentary soon). Now if we knew the mathematical configurations of measuring distances between planets that long ago, surely human beings were more than just wandering around amongst trees.

Hence our curiosity. We have reasons to believe that humans have existed in the way we are today, for much longer than previously thought. We just found a 42,000 year old flute made in ivory. Come on, that’s got to say something!

Anyway, for the time being here is another interesting article that shows our history has been pushed back yet another time. This time, by 80,000 years!

Another reason to let toads be

Toads ‘could be used to predict earthquakes’

You know all that screaming PETA does, and then of course the majority of scientists that have anything to do with global warming or wildlife? There’s got to be something behind it. The truth is, there is a big reason why we should just let the nature be. And that is because we are not as smart as we think we are.

Here is yet another example how these mini-soldiers of nature can help us predict a calamity – yes, an earthquake. Another reason to make friend with toads – they can actually save your life!

What Sandy did

Climate Change And Hurricane Sandy: How Global Warming Might Have Made The Superstorm Worse : Reading articles like these at least makes climate change vaguely the 15 second talk of pastime by the average person on the street. And despite the crazy amount of destruction the hurricane Sandy has caused, you just hope it’s left that legacy behind – awareness, more awareness.

I was pleased to learn recently that globally the number of people who believe in global warming has increased this year. A recent survey showed that over 60% of Americans now think that climate change is occurring. This might be a good time to talk about these things and try to better understand and highlight what effects climate change can have. At the same time, it is important to note that climate change is not best represented by change in daily weather or a particular local area, it encapsulates the entire planet and is reflected by long term change in average temperatures and precipitation on it.

The recent Hurricane Sandy was an addition to a rapidly increasing number of natural catastrophes occurring in North America. There has been a notable increase in the number of, and the damage caused by, storms, droughts as well as fires in North America over the last 30 years. Munich Re estimates the financial loss to be over $1 trillion (they also found a five fold increase in losses for the last 3 decades, more than anywhere else in the world). It’s not that Hurricane Sandy was a direct result of global warming, but its scale was certainly trebled due to it. To slightly dissect the causes, an increase in evaporation over the Gulf of Mexico increased the amount of water vapour in the air, which then led to an increase in precipitation.

Along with the belief in climate change it is important to also understand its major causes and effects. A good way to start for all of us would be to effectively be able to communicate to others these causes and effects in simple and understandable terms. This might in itself make a great difference in spreading awareness and in protecting our brilliant world.

Better bulbs for greener earth

A prize-winning light bulb that lasts for 20 years is going on sale in the US the Earth Day.

Made by Dutch electronics giant Philips, the bulb swaps filaments for light-emitting diodes to provide illumination.
Using LEDs endows the light with a long life and a hefty price tag. The first versions are set to cost $60 (£37).Philips has arranged discounts with shops that will sell the bulb meaning some could buy it for only $20 (£12).

Production banThe bulb triumphed in the Bright Tomorrow competition run by the US Department of Energy that aimed to find an energy efficient alternative to the 60-watt incandescent light bulb.

The DoE challenged firms to develop a design that gave out a warm light similar to that from an incandescent bulbs but was much more energy efficient.Philips was the only entrant for the competition and its design underwent 18 months of testing before being declared a winner.

A cheaper and less efficient version of the LED bulb is already sold by Philips in the US and Europe.

Energy efficiency is becoming a more and more crucial as global warming increases and more pressure is put on our energy resources. Although in small measures, this would be a welcome change.
