Meditation at the University of Warwickshire

 

We are happy to tell you that CIS is now working with young university students in organizing its Basic Module of Science of Yoga: Patanjali Meditation – 4 weekly sessions of 90 minutes each. Student Yoga Club of the University of Warwickshire took the initiative; thanks to our new friend Nina who had recently joined hands with CIS. The first session took place Monday 13th February, 5:30 – 7:00 pm.

Our Events

Our activities range from workshops, talks, or fun get-togethers on weekends, which could even mean a hike or a walk in the park, or a visit to a farm to meet some happy animals.

We are also into visiting schools and universities, meeting others like us, talking and sharing and well, that kind of stuff.

We also visit prisons and meet people there and discuss with them how they are looking to make a difference after they start their new life. When we visit schools and universities or colleges, we talk about life in general, who we are and what we can do as humans to make a difference, or why alcohol and drugs are better off away from us, or why falling in love is an amazing experience and can be a lasting thing for life and your next generation.

We also love to meet interesting and new talented people, and see how we can help each other reach out to more people. We also encourage vegetarian societies forming and talking about the benefits of good and healthy food habits with people they know.

Our workshops range from dealing with the understanding of ourselves, or meditation and of course making the connection between our self-awareness and science, or what we also call as Scientific Spirituality. Some of the most popular ones can actually stretch for as long as a year, depending on the number of modules opted for, whereas the sessions can be as comprehensive as 90 mins each.

We also visit the corporate sector and offices (in fact lots of times) to conduct similar workshops and have specific courses designed for stress management because life is actually pretty darn good and worth enjoying.
